Genus of about 10 species of deciduous, terrestrial orchids from cool to temperate regions of China, Taiwan, and Japan. They have short rhisomes that develop corm-like pseudobulbs, partially underground. Each pseudobulb produces 3-4 linear to obovate, folded leaves. Upright, terminal racemes of up to 12 bell-shaped flowers are borne from spring to early summer.
Nice plant for a cool greenhouse or for alpine house. |

Indoor, grow in soil-based potting mix with added leaf mold, in bright filtered or bright indirect light.
Outdoors, grow in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil in a sheltered site, with partial shade in summer. Mulch during winter, or dig up and store in a dry and frost-free place. |
Water freely in summer. Keep dry in winter. |
Divide in early spring. |
