Plants with milky sap. Leaves large (up to 1½′ long and ½′ wide), oval or elongated oval, leathery, shiny. Still folded leaves enclosed in a pinkish sheath falling off while leaves unfold. - Ficus elastica. Plants with watery sap. While being rubbed, leaves produce strong tart odor.
